Ruth Storm has 25 years' experience as a private equity professional in the UK. During her career, she was/and is one of a handful of senior professional women in the industry. She was a non-executive director of many portfolio companies and other organisations. Ruth is now a business coach, coaching senior individuals and teams in leadership skills. She brings her outdoor adventures into the coaching through her presentation, Leadership of Self, which tells the stories of her polar adventures.

Ruth enjoys outdoor-based activities and challenges, including Sailing (Yachtmaster Ocean, 13,000 NM including across South Pacific and South Atlantic Oceans), Cycling (remote long distance across continents, ca 40,000km to date), Mountain Trekking /Climbing and Running (marathons). She has completed unsupported ski expeditions to both the North and South Geographic Poles making her one of only a few women to do so. She has also made first ascents of mountains in the Ellsworth Range, Antarctica. Ruth is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.

Ruth also has an interest in developing countries and has contributed to micro-finance projects in Tanzania, Sri Lanka and Borneo, where she led a team which taught business skills to local youth, enabling them to win micro-financing for business plans.
